Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Baku State University

International Conference "Modern Trends in Physics" organized by the Ministry of Education, Baku State University, Joint Institute for Nuclear Research of Russia, Regional Network for Education and Training in Nuclear Technology ( STAR-NET ) of Austria and La Sapienza University of Rome was held from 1-3 May 2019 at Baku State University. The representatives of higher educational institutions and scientific organizations of the republic, scientists from the leading universities and research institutes from Russia, Italy, Japan, Turkey, Pakistan, Germany, Georgia and Montenegro have attended at the conference. Along with the foreigners, the scientists of higher educational institutions and scientific organizations of the Azerbaijan has participated at the conference. 181 scientists submitted their reports to the organizing committee to attend at the conference. BSU vice-rector on Science and Innovation, correspondent member of ANAS Aydin Kazimzade opened the conference and congratulated the participants of the conference by the name of rector Elchin Babaev. He has mentioned that, this conference is held for 12 th time and its results has always highly appreca He said that this conference has been held for the 12th time and its results are always highly valued by the scientist community. He spoke about the history of the Faculty of Physics, its successful work in the development of physics and high skilled human resources in the republic. Dean of the Faculty of Physics, Professor Mahammadali Ramazanov gave information about the program and read the letters sent to the conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of BSU. Head of the Science Division of the Ministry of Education Anar Kazimov congratulated the participants of the conference by the name of the Ministry of Education. Then Prof. Iman Asgarzadeh, prof. Hamdulla Mehrabov congratulated the participants of the conference. Then Aydin Kazimzade presented “ The most productive scientist at WEB of Science BSU” prize to Prof. Nizami Hasanli. Then the Plenary Session started its work. At the plenary session the reports were listened by the participants and discussed widely. The conference was continued on May 2-3, in the following sections: 1. Nano-, optoelectronics and materials research 2. Theoretical, mathematical and high-energy physics 3. Biological and medical physics 4. Condensed matter physics 5. Astrophysics 6. Physical and technical problems of alternative energy Overall, 155 out of 180 submitted papers were presented and widely discussed by the participants. The conference was completed on May 3, 2019.
